Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, along with Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, honored the trainees who participated in the free knitting and embroidery training course. The course was organized by the university’s Community Service and Environmental Development Sector through the Main Center for Public and Community Services, in collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Arts and Kheir Al-Zad Foundation.
Held over five days at the Faculty of Applied Arts, the course witnessed active participation and great enthusiasm from the trainees who were eager to acquire hands-on craft skills relevant to the labor market. The honoring ceremony was held at the university’s administration building, in the presence of Prof. Abbas El-Hefnawy, former President of Menoufia University, Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Porf. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Director of the Main Center for Public and Community Services, Eng. Amira El-Saeidi, founding member of Kheir Al-Zad Foundation, and several faculty members.
In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that these courses are part of the university’s strategy to empower members of the local community, especially women, by equipping them with practical skills that enhance their income opportunities and professional development. He expressed his pleasure with the trainees’ high level of engagement and dedication throughout the program, affirming the university’s commitment to launching initiatives that build human capacities and strengthen its role as a key community development partner.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim added that the university is dedicated to offering more free training courses across various fields to support community development and meet labor market needs. He praised the Faculty of Applied Arts and the Main Center for Public and Community Services for their essential role in hosting and organizing the training and for providing all the necessary resources to ensure its success.
The ceremony concluded with honoring the trainees, the faculty members of the Department of Ready-Made Garments and Fashion Industry who led the training, and a number of staff members from the faculty.
