Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 264 of 2025 regarding the establishment of Tanta National University, to be located in Tanta City. The new university will comprise ten colleges, including:

Faculty of Medicine

Faculty of Dentistry

Faculty of Pharmacy

Faculty of Nursing

Faculty of Engineering

Faculty of Computers, Information, and Artificial Intelligence

Faculty of Science

Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages)

Faculty of Business

Faculty of Social and Human Sciences

The presidential decree also states:

"The university shall have the right to establish additional colleges, specialized higher institutes, and research units upon completion of the necessary legal procedures."

The university aims to enhance the quality of education and scientific research, provide specialized academic programs, and prepare qualified professionals and experts across various fields. This will help align its objectives with the evolving needs of society, while also offering research services to external stakeholders.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for issuing the decree, emphasizing that this represents a significant milestone in the development of higher education in Egypt. He stated that the decision reflects the President's commitment to improving the education system, offering high-quality learning opportunities, and alleviating the financial burden on Egyptian families.
