Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President and Chair of the Committee for Selecting Deans of Faculties, announced today, Monday, the opening of the application process for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for eligible full professors currently serving within the faculty.

The application period will begin on Sunday, June 22, 2025, and continue until Saturday, June 28, 2025.

According to the announced timeline:

• Sunday, June 29, 2025 will be designated for reviewing application files and announcing the preliminary list of candidates.

• Appeals will be received on Monday, June 30, 2025, and Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

• Appeals will be reviewed and the final list of candidates announced on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

• Candidate file evaluations, personal interviews, and the final report will be conducted on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit six complete files (one original + five copies). A USB flash drive containing a PDF version of the original file must be attached to each file. Each file should include the following:

1. Formal application for candidacy.

2. Official employment status certificate issued by the university.

3. Updated curriculum vitae (CV) under the applicant’s own responsibility.

4. Supporting documents verifying academic and administrative qualifications and activities, including held positions, awards received, and any research/studies authored or co-authored.

5. A detailed action plan, including proposed development strategies, reform approaches, and improvement initiatives.

Each application must meet the criteria specified in Ministerial Decree No. 1365 of 2022 and its amendments in Ministerial Decree No. 2468 of 2024, including the following competencies:

• Leadership capabilities

• Administrative skills

• Mechanisms for implementing the national vision for higher education and scientific research in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030

• Communication skills

• Financial and human resource management abilities

• Research competencies

• General qualifications

• Relevance and feasibility of the proposed plan in the context of the university’s current situation

Eligibility Criteria for Candidacy:

1. The candidate must be a full professor currently employed at the Faculty of Specific Education.

2. The candidate must be actively serving at the university at the time of application.

3. The candidate must not have previously held the position of dean through appointment more than once.

4. The candidate must not have been convicted of a felony or any crime involving honor or integrity, unless legally rehabilitated.

5. The candidate must not have been subject to any disciplinary action, unless such penalty has been revoked, expunged, or withdrawn by the competent authority.

6. The candidate must not hold any political party position at the time of candidacy and throughout the tenure if appointed.

Applications will be accepted daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the designated application period. All required documents must be submitted in person to the Dean Selection Committee Secretariat at the Office of the University President and Chair of the Committee. A timestamp indicating the exact time and date of submission will be recorded on the application file.
