Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President and Chair of the Committee for Selecting Faculty Deans, announced today, Monday, the opening of the application period for candidacy for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Law. Applications are open to full professors currently serving at the faculty and will be accepted from Sunday, June 22, 2025, until Saturday, June 28, 2025.

According to the announced timeline:

• Sunday, June 29, 2025: Review of submitted files and announcement of the preliminary list of candidates.

• Monday, June 30, and Tuesday, July 1, 2025: Receipt of appeals.

• Wednesday, July 2, 2025: Announcement of the final list of candidates.

• Monday, July 7, 2025: Review of application files, conduct of personal interviews, and preparation of the final report.

Application Submission Requirements:

Each applicant must submit six complete files (one original and five copies), each accompanied by a USB flash drive containing a PDF version of the complete original file. Each file must include the following:

1. Candidacy application form.

2. Official employment status certificate, approved by the university.

3. A detailed CV, submitted under the applicant’s full responsibility.

4. All documents supporting the candidate’s academic and administrative qualifications, including previous positions held, awards received, and research papers or studies authored or co-authored.

5. A comprehensive action plan detailing proposed development, reform strategies, and suggestions for improvement.

Each file must address the criteria outlined in Ministerial Decree No. 1365 of 2022 and its amendments in Ministerial Decree No. 2468 of 2024, including:

• Leadership capabilities

• Administrative competencies

• Implementation mechanisms for the national vision of higher education and scientific research aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030

• Communication skills

• Financial and human resource management skills

• Research abilities

• General capabilities

• Relevance and applicability of the proposed plan to the university’s current context

Eligibility Criteria for Candidacy:

1. The applicant must be a full professor currently employed at the Faculty of Law at the time of candidacy.

2. The candidate must be actively working at the university at the time of application.

3. The candidate must not have previously held the position of dean through appointment more than once.

4. The candidate must not have been convicted of a criminal offense or a crime involving dishonesty or moral turpitude, unless legally rehabilitated.

5. The candidate must not have received any disciplinary sanction, unless it was annulled, expunged, or withdrawn by the competent authority.

6. The candidate must not hold any partisan or political position at the time of application and throughout the term of office.

Applications will be accepted daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the announced candidacy period. All required documents must be submitted to the Committee Secretariat at the office of the President of the University and Chair of the Committee. A timestamp indicating the date and time of submission will be affixed to the application file.
