Renewal of Accreditation for the Reinforced Concrete, Heavy Structures, and Material Properties Laboratories at Tanta University’s Faculty of Engineering by (EGAC)

Prof. Mohamed Hussein,  Tanta University President, announced that the Faculty of Engineering has successfully renewed the accreditation of the Reinforced Concrete and Heavy Structures Laboratory as well as the Material Properties Laboratory by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), reaffirming the university’s commitment to international quality standards.

The University President explained that the renewal was granted in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the specific criteria of EGAC, which ensure the technical competence of laboratories and their ability to deliver accurate and reliable testing and calibration results. This reinforces confidence in the technical reports issued by the faculty.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that the university consistently applies comprehensive quality standards across all educational, research, and service sectors. He stated that the successful renewal of accreditation for the reinforced concrete, heavy structures, and material properties laboratories stands as a testament to the technical expertise of the faculty teams and their adherence to the highest performance standards in engineering testing and assessment. He added that this achievement strengthens Tanta University’s position as a leading educational and research institution and directly supports the university’s strategic plan to elevate the quality of research outputs and serve the construction sector and local community with high-quality, reliable testing results.

For his part, Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, congratulated all members of the faculty on the continued renewal of the laboratories’ accreditation. He stated that this reflects the institutional and dedicated efforts made within the faculty to maintain the highest levels of quality and technical efficiency. He extended his sincere appreciation to the laboratory directors and all work teams—including faculty members, technicians, and administrators—for their remarkable dedication throughout the previous period to meet all requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017. He affirmed the faculty’s ongoing commitment to enhancing laboratory capabilities to support education and research, and to provide reliable engineering testing services that meet labor market needs and national development goals.
