Internationalization requires advanced skills in building bridges with global institutions and developing educational and research partnerships.
We extend our gratitude to the DAAD for selecting impactful and highly relevant themes.
The recommendations produced by the working groups will serve as a guiding framework for the university in developing its strategic plans.
The Tanta University delegation, led by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President, concluded today its active participation in the important training workshop on “Developing Transnational Education,” organized by the Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Cairo. This participation comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its strategy for internationalization and academic accreditation.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein explained that the workshop included in-depth discussions on key issues supporting the university’s internationalization and accreditation strategy. The sessions featured an important panel titled “Self-Evaluation in Accreditation,” which highlighted the role of self-assessment as a fundamental tool for obtaining international academic accreditation.
The workshop also included a valuable session on “Negotiation and Communication in an International Context,” emphasizing essential skills for developing cross-border educational partnerships, in addition to strategic working groups.
The day concluded with intensive group sessions focusing on setting strategies for managing Dual Degree programs, drafting guidelines for self-evaluation reports required for accreditation, and developing a clear action plan and timeline for future internationalization processes within universities.
These sessions were led by a distinguished panel of international and local experts, including:
Prof. Yohansen Eid, Executive Vice President for Institutional Excellence and International Cooperation at Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation
Prof. Henning Schäfer, Executive Director of ZeVA Accreditation Agency
Prof. Karin Schlütter, Division Head at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI)

He added that internationalization requires advanced capabilities for building durable partnerships with global institutions and developing deep, sustainable educational and applied research collaborations.
He expressed sincere appreciation to the DAAD for selecting a set of impactful themes that align with national strategies for developing educational and research systems, noting that the outcomes and recommendations produced by the working groups will form a guiding reference for the university’s strategic plans for quality assurance and international accreditation.
