Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, participated in the official ceremony launching the National Initiative to Support Outstanding Students at Egyptian Universities, titled “Future Scholars Scholarship.” The event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Prof. Entissar El-Sisi, First Lady of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and in the presence of Prof. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, at the Grand Celebration Hall of Cairo University.
The initiative reflects the Egyptian state’s strong commitment to supporting higher education and scientific research, empowering youth through fair and equal educational opportunities, and building a generation capable of contributing to comprehensive development and shaping the future of the nation.
According to a statement by the Cabinet, the ceremony was attended by Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population; Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt; Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education; Prof. Ahmed Hano, Minister of Culture; Prof. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity; and Prof. Mohamed Sami, President of Cairo University.
The event also witnessed the participation of a number of state officials, presidents of public, private, and national universities, chairs of boards of trustees of private universities, leaders of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, banking and financial sector leaders, business figures, members of parliamentary committees concerned with education and scientific research, representatives of relevant ministries, international organizations and civil society institutions, organizations working in the fields of scholarships and human development, as well as a distinguished group of professors across various scientific disciplines and a number of Egyptian university students.
The ceremony included the screening of a documentary film highlighting the history of Cairo University and the contributions of its prominent figures to the journey of education and scientific research, foremost among them Princess Fatma Ismail, emphasizing the university’s deep-rooted legacy and its ongoing national and scientific role.
The event also featured a panel discussion with a group of scholarship beneficiaries, moderated by media figure Osama Kamal, during which students shared their experiences and aspirations, and explained how the scholarship contributed to supporting their academic and professional paths.
