During the activities of the First Environmental Forum of Delta Universities at Tanta University, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, the Faculty of Engineering won first place in the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” competition, and financial awards were granted to outstanding student projects.


   The activities of the First Environmental Forum of the Delta Region Universities Alliance, organized today by Tanta University under the slogan “Academia and Industry: Towards Bridging the Gap,” witnessed the announcement of the results of the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” competition, as well as the Innovative Student Projects Competition. The awards were presented by Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities; Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University; and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
   In the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty” competition, the Faculty of Engineering secured first place, with the award received by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty. The Faculty of Pharmacy won second place, and the award was received by Prof. Mona El-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty. Third place was awarded to the Faculty of Science, with the honor received by Prof. Abeer Alam El-Din, Dean of the Faculty.
   The results of the winning student projects were also announced. In the Energy Sustainability, Recycling, and Smart Agricultural Projects track, first place was jointly awarded to Delta University for Science and Technology and Menoufia University, while second place went to Samannoud Technological University.
   In the Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Software track, first place was jointly awarded to Kafrelsheikh University and Delta Technological University, while Damietta University secured second place.
   In the Community Innovation and Digital Services track, first place was awarded jointly to Tanta University and New Mansoura University, while second place went to Al Salam University.
   Prof. Mohamed Hussein presented the University Shield to Prof. Mostafa Refaat. Prof. Mona El-Aasar, Head of the Forum’s Scientific Committee; Prof. Nehal Atef, General Coordinator of the Student Projects at the Forum; and Prof. Hager Alam El-Din, Rapporteur of the Forum, were also honored, in addition to the Forum’s sponsoring companies.
   The event was attended by Prof. Ashraf Heneigel, President of Suez University; Prof. Abdel Fattah Seddek, former President of Tanta University and President of Al Salam University; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdel Khaleq, former President of Tanta University; Prof. Emad Othman, former Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; vice presidents of universities for Community Service and Environmental Development; deans and vice deans of faculties; faculty members; a number of journalists and media professionals; and students.
