Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced the accreditation of the Oncology Program at the University Oncology Center as a training center for qualifying Arab physicians. The Arab Board, affiliated with the Council of Arab Health Ministers, is an organization under the League of Arab States and is accredited for a period of six years. The Arab Board offers certification in various medical specialties.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein affirmed that the accreditation of the Oncology Program at the Faculty of Medicine as a training center for Arab physicians is a culmination of the university's efforts to develop its medical and research system and a confirmation of its leadership in providing educational and training services that meet international standards. He added that this accreditation reflects international confidence in the academic and medical expertise at Tanta University. He emphasized the university's keen interest in achieving the Egyptian state's Vision 2030 strategy for developing higher education and scientific research and improving the quality of healthcare services. He noted that this six-year accreditation is a testament to merit that enhances the university's international ranking and confirms its pivotal role as a regional center of expertise in specialized medical fields. He commended the efforts of the staff of the Oncology Department and the Faculty of Medicine who contributed to achieving this significant accomplishment.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals at Tanta University, expressed his pride in the Oncology Program's accreditation by the Arab Board of Medical Specialties. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the prestigious standing that Tanta University, its Faculty of Medicine, and its university hospitals have attained on the regional and international stage. He commended the outstanding and unwavering support of Dr. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, the University President, noting that the accreditation is the fruit of the Faculty's continuous efforts to develop the medical education environment and modernize scientific research methodologies according to the highest international quality standards. This is in line with the directives of the political leadership to elevate the higher education and scientific research system to meet the aspirations of the Egyptian state.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine indicated that the Oncology Department has met all the stringent quality standards set by the Arab Board, supported by the department's exceptional faculty and physicians, outstanding infrastructure, and advanced medical technologies. This directly impacts the quality of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients at the university hospitals. He emphasized that this accreditation will significantly contribute to enhancing Tanta University and the Faculty of Medicine's standing in international rankings and increasing scientific citation rates. It also serves as a strong incentive to continue striving for excellence and supporting training programs for Arab physicians. He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the dedicated team who worked tirelessly to complete this achievement.
