Steps of Applying for Checking Academic Integrity and Scientific Distinction

  • A researcher gets a letter ratified by Dean of research’s Faculty verifying that he applied for a Professor’s or Assistant Professor’s degree. Moreover, the Dean ratifies a list of the papers the researcher submitted for the promotion.

  • The researcher goes to the headquarters of Development Unit to pay the fees of checking the papers, which are 100 EGP per paper, with a maximum of 8 papers. Next, he presents the checking request, the needed ratified documents and his papers to Manager of Digital Library Project.

  • A researcher (or designees) goes to Digital Libraries Unit at the Supreme Council of Universities to apply for preparation of Scientific Distinction Report, H-index of periodicals, after presenting the required documents that are a letter from the Dean, a ratified list of papers in addition to sending the papers, and a list of periodicals that will be assessed with a maximum of 8 papers provided that a sum of 100 EGP is paid for the Scientific Distinction Report as a whole with a maximum of 8 papers.

  • The report on academic integrity is sent to Digital Libraries Unit at the Supreme Council of Universities. The Unit prepares a report on scientific distinction. After that, it sends Academic Integrity Report and Scientific Distinction Report to rapporteur of the Scientific Committee, Secretary of the Scientific Committee and the researcher.

Important Remarks:

  • Digital Libraries Unit at the Supreme Council of Universities is the only authority responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of Scientific Distinction Report, H-index

  • Sending Academic Integrity Report and Scientific Distinction Report to committees. Scientific committees do not receive any reports from any universities.

  • All processes, between a researcher and the authority ratified by the University or the Digital Libraries Unit at the Supreme Council of Universities, must be official using letters ratified by Faculty Dean. No Modifications, to what a researcher previously submitted, can be accepted unless there is a letter ratified by the Dean.

  • A researcher must be notified to be careful when choosing the papers to be examined. He has to choose them precisely so that there is no possibility of change, deletion or addition because this leads to a great confusion and error in reports and consumes accounts of each university’s share in the program Ithentcate with no use. A researcher is not allowed to make any statements about his scientific committee that contradict the accepted rules without submitting an official letter from the committee that mentions what he states.

  • A researcher is not permitted to examine his papers as a trial before submitting to the Scientific Committee

  • A researcher does not get ratified or non-ratified copies from the Digital Library at the University. However, he gets a copy of the reports from the Supreme Council of Universities.
